We recently set up at the Sawgrass Mariott Bridal Show. It was so nice to see so many of our current brides as well as to meet so many potential brides!
I do have to say that probably the biggest hit in our booth had to be our designer Amy Dwarika’s hand painted work, including these marvelous bridal shoes!
She received soooo many nice compliments from brides and vendors about them. She’s already started taking orders from brides. She can hand paint them in a fun and funky styling like this to match your wedding day decor, flowers or just something different to reflect your personality! We can’t wait to see her shoes popping up in our clients’ wedding day photos!
If you didn’t get a chance to stop by and see them, no worries, come by UNF this Sunday from 1-4pm for their bridal show, we’ll be there!
Thank you Christy Whitehead for the photos!
The summer of 2011 has brought both a new location and a new look to A Fantasy in Flowers.
Since our last post, we have officially moved from our San Jose location to our new design studio on County Road 210 at 110 Cumberland Park Drive in suite 108. And we couldn’t be happier with the move.
We have a new workspace in the back of the shop that is much better for our talented designers to work and for our delivery staff to pick up event orders.
The staff loves it and we feel much more organized to do every day work as well as our many weddings and events.
We even have a back door to our design studio, unlike our past location, so no more hauling flowers through the lobby.
And speaking of our lobby, we are especially proud of our new showroom area. We have designed it in rich and bold orange tones with sage, chrome and glass incorporated throughout.
It is much more comfortable for consults as well as visually stimulating, all in an effort to allow our brides and event planners the chance to relax, feel welcome and be creative with their floral needs. We provide a complimentary consultation to all our new brides where a floral design artist sits with the bride to assist in creating a floral vision for the bride’s big day.
The bride can also tour the work space area, and take a look in the cooler to see and handle flowers getting a very hands on experience.
Getting married or have an event? Give us a call and come see our new studio: 904-268-7022
A Fantasy in Flowers is North Florida’s premier florist, well known and well loved by brides. We have been voted the best florist in town by Jacksonville Magazine, Wedding Wire and The Knot. Let us show you why we are different.
If you hadn’t gotten one of our postcards or heard– we’re moving!
But don’t worry, we aren’t going far, and our service area is remaining the same.
We have moved off County Road 210 in St. John’s County: 110 Cumberland Park, #108
We are excited about the new space which is a blank canvas for us to design from the ground up with a new meeting area to meet with brides and corporate clients.
New photos coming soon!

Thank you to all of our brides, grooms and their parents for voting for A Fantasy in Flowers and making us a 2011 winner on Wedding Wire for one of the best wedding florists in the area.
Just a quick post to wish you and yours a Happy New Year! We hope you had a great holiday season with those you loved. And may this year bring you good health, and a happy home filled with friends, family and of course flowers!
It’s time for another “Inspiration Bouquet.”
At a Fantasy in Flowers, we call this one, “The Nest.”
Floral Designer Amy Dwarika created this bouquet using soft pink spray roses, peaches and cream Asiatic Lilies, green tea hypericum, eggshell white Hydrangeas and peacock feathers, white washed curly willow and ivory silver dollar springs.
While the peacock feathers add a nice touch of color and whimsy they are also believed to symbolize the “all seeing” church in Christianity, along with the holiness and sanctity associated with it.
Amy was inspired to create the bouquet by the thought of home and unconditional love–thus the nest of flowers!
Light pink roses typically imply sweetness and elegance. This also contributes to the thought of sweet little birds or love birds.
Amy loved how birds each contribute a piece of themselves to the nest or home. This is symbolic of what a marriage is. Each person joins a piece of themselves to make a family unit.
Wedding planners, feel free to share this blog and concept with your brides! Bird themes are really big right now, especially for cake toppers.
This would be an ideal bouquet for a Spring or garden wedding.
Thank you to those who contributed to this shoot!

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but I want to make it up to you with a new series we plan to do here at A Fantasy in Flowers–inspiration bouquets! I’m hoping that by creating bouquets that we love and think look beautiful you too will think outside the box and let us make bouquets that speak to your theme, colors and style for your big day.
Our floral artist Amy Dwarika created this stunning blue bouquet and calls it “A Day at the Beach.” She was inspired to create it after spending a day painting on Anastasia Island. She wanted to replicate the cascading waves of the ocean and the rich blues she saw.
The bouquet contains:
Sky blue hybrid Delphinium
Seafoam green Cymbidium Orchids
Sand coloured Kale
Beach green Ameranthus
Ocean blue Veronica
And of course, no ocean inspired bouquet would be complete without seashells.
The flower Ameranthus was believed by the Greeks to have special healing powers and is often associated with everlasting love–a perfect flower for weddings!
The blue Delphinium got its meaning from the Greek word meaning Dolphin. Delphinium symbolizes the essence and feeling of heavenly qualities. Considering this was inspired by the beach, it makes a perfect accent for weddings with a beachy theme.
If you notice, there are leafy looking cabbages in the bouquet, these are Kale. They come in both green or purple and is a fun accent to many bouquets.
While some brides prefer the simple standing posy bouquet with it’s simple round shape filled with flowers, the cascading bouquet style featured is ideal for brides who prefer something a little more dramatic or really want to show off their wedding day flowers.
The cascading style can easily be carried over to the boutonnieres as well.
Living in Florida, we provide flowers for weddings set on the beach as well as beach themed weddings. I’ve seen many wedding cakes that have chocolate seashells or little beach chairs, but the flowers are often forgotten as a way to also carry on that theme. Our floral artists can take that theme and your wedding flower choices and help you create your own custom bouquet.
If you’re in the area this month, pick up a copy of the San Marco Magazine, this bouquet is featured in our newest ad on page 20.
Here’s a couple of more photos featuring this bouquet. We’d like to thank several other wedding vendors for their help with this shoot. If you are getting married please contact them!:
