A Day at the Beach Bouquet — Jacksonville, Fl Wedding Florist
I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but I want to make it up to you with a new series we plan to do here at A Fantasy in Flowers–inspiration bouquets! I’m hoping that by creating bouquets that we love and think look beautiful you too will think outside the box and let us make bouquets that speak to your theme, colors and style for your big day.
Our floral artist Amy Dwarika created this stunning blue bouquet and calls it “A Day at the Beach.” She was inspired to create it after spending a day painting on Anastasia Island. She wanted to replicate the cascading waves of the ocean and the rich blues she saw.
And of course, no ocean inspired bouquet would be complete without seashells.
The flower Ameranthus was believed by the Greeks to have special healing powers and is often associated with everlasting love–a perfect flower for weddings!
The blue Delphinium got its meaning from the Greek word meaning Dolphin. Delphinium symbolizes the essence and feeling of heavenly qualities. Considering this was inspired by the beach, it makes a perfect accent for weddings with a beachy theme.
If you notice, there are leafy looking cabbages in the bouquet, these are Kale. They come in both green or purple and is a fun accent to many bouquets.
While some brides prefer the simple standing posy bouquet with it’s simple round shape filled with flowers, the cascading bouquet style featured is ideal for brides who prefer something a little more dramatic or really want to show off their wedding day flowers.
The cascading style can easily be carried over to the boutonnieres as well.
Living in Florida, we provide flowers for weddings set on the beach as well as beach themed weddings. I’ve seen many wedding cakes that have chocolate seashells or little beach chairs, but the flowers are often forgotten as a way to also carry on that theme. Our floral artists can take that theme and your wedding flower choices and help you create your own custom bouquet.
If you’re in the area this month, pick up a copy of the San Marco Magazine, this bouquet is featured in our newest ad on page 20.
Here’s a couple of more photos featuring this bouquet. We’d like to thank several other wedding vendors for their help with this shoot. If you are getting married please contact them!:
