Natural Disaster to Dream Wedding Day in St. Augustine

Now, before you have an anxiety attack reading this (because we can see how it could make your heart race and your palms sweat), know that this story, when all said and done,  ends happily! But we have to give you the not-so-happy story that leads up to this memorable day to appreciate how beautifully it came together.

Amanda and Edin faced a natural disaster while wedding planning, that set them back nearly six months. As they watched their wedding day approach on the calendar, they watched a massive hurricane, not so affectionately knowns as Matthew, approach the east coast of Florida. Due to hit St. Augustine eye on. And boy did it ever. The entire downtown area was flooded – with most of the businesses in this quaint destination location under four feet of water. In the wake of the storm, between the storm surge and incessant rain that caused severe flooding, the town was without power and public water for days (for some, weeks) following the storm. They faced the absolute worst case scenarios for a Florida wedding planned during hurricane season. Having to reschedule the entire occasion.

Fortunately, the entire vendor team was local and close to the tragedy. Our hearts hurt with them!  We didn’t have to image what they were going through because we knew. Fortunately, they also had an amazing wedding planner, and with more than a few phone calls + emails, the had a new date set and planning commenced. Again.

Fantasy Floral Details

The color combination was feminine and soft- lots of pink hues paired with bright and creamy whites. Florals were an important element to the couple (which, of course, we fully support). They wanted lush, full blooms with high impact.

Amanda’s cascading style bouquet included white dendrobium orchids, white calla lilies, Esperance roses, blush spray roses and greenery.

Bridesmaids carried white football mums, white hypericum berries,  blush + white spray roses, and bright pink roses.

The ceremony chuppah & reception centerpieces included the same florals already mentioned, as well as white hydrangea, babies breath, blush garden roses, soft blush pink roses, white button mums and white chrysanthemums.

With the exception of Amanda’s bouquet, all the florals had full, rounded shapes. It was lovely and luxurious.

The couple was thrilled with the result. And although it was hard to admit, it was worth the wait! The weathered a tough storm, and we have faith that they can get through anything in their marriage!

Ps- we highly recommend wedding insurance year round, but especially from June 1- November 30.

Enchanting Coastal Wedding at The Treasury On The Plaza

Romance is in the air with Alyson & Bryan’s Enchanting Coastal Wedding.

Today we are so excited to share with you this Enchanting Coastal Wedding. From bridal bouquets to centerpieces we have adorned every aspect of this beautiful day with our blooms! Speaking of bridal bouquets Alyson’s bouquet was created with white hydrangea, roses & soft orchids. Each bridesmaids bouquet was a cluster of white hydrangea with roses nestled in between. Bryan was a dashing groom in his black tux accented with a white orchid boutonniere.

Alyson & Bryan chose The Treasury on The Plaza as their reception venue. The Treasury on The Plaza is one of the most sought after wedding locations in St. Augustine. In the entryway to the reception guests were greeted with tall glass pillar holders filled with blooms of hydrangea & glistening candlelight set beside the sweetest guest book frame of signed hearts from their loved ones.

The reception hall looked completely enchanting from the shimmering table linens and dinnerware to the towering gold centerpieces that decorated the dining tables. Set in front of the historical 1927 vault,  Alyson & Bryan’s sweetheart table featured a glittering table cloth of blue as the backdrop for more of our gorgeous flowers.  White and blue hydrangea along with quicksand roses, dark purple Dendrobium orchid’s, amnesia roses, burgundy Cymbidium orchid’s, ivory roses, black bocarra roses, memoryLane roses & burgundy mums came together for the most romantic centerpieces. Lovely Mr. & Mrs. wooden signs finished off the look for their table. The amazing gold stands were decorated using the same flowers and each one was then draped with Ivory pearls.

As they all danced the night away & had the most illuminating exit we can honestly say that Alyson & Bryan’s wedding was nothing short of fabulous!

From our bride Alyson: ‘I cannot rave about Susan and Amy enough!! They were absolutely amazing and their vision exceeded my expectations. Their work is worth every penny and I wouldn’t have traded them for the world! Thank you for all that you did for our special day on 01/21/2017 ‘.

Multi-Cultural Destination Wedding

Today’s Multi-Cultural Destination Wedding will leave you in awe!

Rewa & Michaels’ wedding is a fantastic fusion of two cultures coming together for one love. This lovely couple resides in Atlanta but dreamed of celebrating their big day in Florida at the incredible Club Continental. Combining Rewa’s Hindu background & Michael’s Christian background they decided to honor both of their upbringings with 2 ceremonies.

Rewa’s traditional wedding ceremony was nothing short of mesmerizing, her family provided the customary Mandap decorated with vibrant fabric & banana leaves. These weddings featured 2 outfit changes from stunning red & gold embroidered traditional Hindu attire to a beautiful turquoise sari & a snazzy gray suit.

We decorated the large altar arrangements with white mums, white hydrangea, white snapdragons, red carnations & red mokara orchids.  Rewa’s bridal bouquet was positively sensational with red anemones, seeded euch, white hydrangea & red hypericum berries and was then wrapped in gold for a finishing touch.

The reception hall was adorned in red & gold accents, from the gold table linens to the red candles to our floral centerpieces. The centerpieces were in gold compotes with red mokara orchids, red carnations, red asiatic lilies white hydrangea & red hypericum berries, everything was so colorful & warm. We can’t forget the eye-catching 3 tiered buttercream cake featuring small red blooms & berries pulling every detail together!

Classic River House Wedding

Krissy & Patrick’s Classic River House Wedding is nothing short of spectacular. Overlooking Matanzas River in St. Augustine surrounded by their loved ones, Krissy & Patrick said “I Do” while standing under a beautifully decorated arch of hydrangea & swagging garland.

Krissy looked absolutely stunning, as if she stepped out of a romantic vintage movie. Her bridal bouquet perfectly complimented her classic look, created with white roses, Israeli ruscus & eucalyptus, while each of her bridesmaids carried hand tied hydrangea bouquets. Our groom patrick also sported a  very classic rose boutonniere with sprigs of Israeli ruscus.

Sweet flower girls dusted the ceremony aisle with petals as Krissy & her dad made their way to the alter. For the reception we decorated the long farm table with a garland of eucalyptus and re-purposed the bridesmaids bouquets by placing them in bubble bowls which  made for amazing centerpieces.

Crystal Bos Photography was there to capture every special moment from Krissy getting ready to their first look to the unforgettable bubble send off.

Romantic Outdoor Nautical Wedding – Ponte Vedra Inn & Club

It’s not everyday that your only daughter gets married. When an extraordinary occasion occurs you need an extraordinary event location to bring it all together. That’s why for Katie & Mark’s Romantic Outdoor Nautical Wedding they chose none other than the luxurious oceanfront Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

Their Romantic Outdoor Nautical Wedding was positively a dream come true. Fun nautical details can be found throughout their wedding. A custom sailing knot designed by Ginny Krauss & Patricia from Fancy Girl Designs became their trademark logo. From the bridesmaids monogrammed robes to the fun cornhole board to the signature sticker this personalized touch was unforgettable.

Katie was the epitome of perfection in her strapless lace gown with a sweetheart neckline. Her bridal bouquet featured soft pink garden roses with pops of bubblegum pink roses, cream colored ranunculus & touches of anemones. Keeping with the nautical theme, Mark sported a navy suit jacket with a blue striped tie & boat shoes. His boutonniere was a perfect single anemone bud.

For their outdoor ceremony we transformed the oceanfront courtyard into a floral dream. Stunning green foliage intertwined with pink roses was draped over the balustrade and coordinating floral swag adorned the guests seating. As magical as their outdoor ceremony was decorated the reception hall was over the top amazing showcasing a floral wall. The strinking floral partition with lush hydrangeas, roses & lots of green leafage became the perfect backdrop for the bride & grooms table. A cascading runner of roses & cream hydrangeas swept over the table while shimmering gold fabric was woven down the back of the head chairs and decorated with even more beautiful blooms.

Lush pink & gold accents were used in creating their magnificent soiree. Tall floral centerpieces, pink glistening table linens and gold votives are just a few of the special touches. Dan Harris perfectly captured Katie & Mark’s big day and we couldn’t be more thankful.

Romantic Plantation Wedding

On a lovely September day Nicole & Elisha said, “I Do” to an everlasting love together at their Romantic Plantation Wedding at Bowing Oaks Plantation.

Nicole’s parents Karen & John just so happen to own the event planning business Mugwumps that helped make their day even more special. Set under a rustic alter gathered with family & friends, wedding photographer Jamie owner of Couture Studios captured every magical moment of their romantic plantation wedding. Dreamy hues of purple were used throughout this wedding. Nicole’s bridal bouquet was created using lavender roses, dark purple lisianthus and baby’s breath. Her bridesmaids wore one shoulder knee length plum dresses & carried bouquets of light green hydrangea. The centerpieces and altar arrangements contained lavender roses, light green hydrangea, purple liatrus,  lavender pom poms and baby’s breath. The mason jar floral centerpieces were placed on wooden slices and the arrangements used for the ceremony were placed on wine barrels in keeping with the overall rustic look of Bowing Oaks. The scrumptious buttercream cake was adorned with purple blooms. Right before the ceremony the rain started to became very strong but they didn’t miss a beat, the bridal party entered with umbrellas and everything went off as scheduled. Jamie was able to snap amazing pictures that were almost made even better by the rain!

Everything about Nicole & Elisha’s wedding was positively spectacular and we are so happy to have been apart of it.

A Fantasy in Flowers Showroom Premiere

Today we are delighted to share with you A Fantasy in Flowers Showroom Premiere!

Recently we decided it was time for a makeover in our showroom. Photographer Dan Harris who just so happens to be the same photographer who took the beyond fabulous photos of Susan’s daughter’s wedding, was kind enough to come into our shop and have a mini styled photo shoot. We wanted our new showroom to have a dazzling appeal, featuring beautiful reflective furnishings, soft lighting, portraits of our most fabulous wedding and of course fresh floral arrangements.

Our bright sitting room is designed with a sleek tufted sofa decorated with a fun floral pom pom pillow. Finishing off the area are two ornate floral painted chairs and in the corner a hand painted gown created by our very own Amy. You can find gold & silver hues and pops of red throughout the show room. A glass display showcases just a few of the beautiful accessories we use in our wedding designs, from tall centerpieces to candelabras to pillar candle holders.

We definitely feel our stunning showroom  makeover is beautiful, inviting & inspiring!

Big Thank you to Dan Harris PhotoArt for our fantastic photos!

Princess & Brian’s Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens Wedding

On a Saturday in May, Princess & Brian said, “I do” in a beautiful church ceremony. They chose us, A Fantasy in Flowers to make all their floral dreams come true.

Princess was a vision wearing an all lace gown. Her luscious bridal bouquet was created with lime green hydrangeas, pastel pink lisianthus, bubblegum pink esperance roses & light pink spray roses. We absolutely love how the lime green hydrangeas really pop! Princess’ bridal party wore coordinating pastel floor length dresses, they each carried full voluminous bouquets of white hydrangeas.
Brian’s boutonniere was a cluster of lydia pink spray roses and italian ruscus which perfectly complimented his grey suit. The groomsmen’s boutonnieres were a white eskimo roses and baby’s breath.
The reception venue at The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens was the ideal location for their elegant soiree. Wedding coordinator Christina Kopecki of Christina’s Kreations designed a romantic setting with sweeping swags of fabric & luxurious lightening. We created low centerpieces using birch vases that were filled with white garden roses, green hydrangea, pink esperance roses and light pink stock, the table was finished with sparkling table numbers, while the cocktail tables were adorned with light pink hydrangeas.
Thank you for including us in your big day. Here’s to a love everlasting!

A Perfect Ponte Vedra Bridal Shower

Our beautiful daughter, Katie is GETTING MARRIED in less than three months, so you know what that means? Bring on the festivities! First up was her Perfect Ponte Vedra Bridal Shower, thrown by the wonderful Hostess Jennifer, a dear friend of mine and Co-Host, Dani, Best Friend & Maid of Honor to the Bride. As the acclaimed “Mother of the Bride”, I have to say that I am having tons of fun with planning this wedding! We had a secret girls night to prep for the shower where we “Boozedazzled” (yes, we made that up!) lots of wine and champagne bottles to make them beautifully dazzled for the shower. It was a lot of fun, and we wish the Bride had been there (it was a secret).

The day of the shower was absolutely perfect. Of course, A Fantasy in Flowers provided the floral arrangements and our very sweet Amy was so gracious to style it alongside hosts, Jennifer & Dani. Katie couldn’t have been happier. Daisy the dog was there in full spirits to greet everyone and it wouldn’t have been the same without her. Most of all, our dear Bride Katie was able to relish in being showered and surrounded by local family & friends in anticipation of her big day!

A special thanks to Dan Harris for taking these beautiful pictures for us.
